Send a postcard to space!

Club for the Future is excited to partner with Huntsville Science Festival to bring students in Alabama access to space! The Club's mission is to inspire students to pursue careers in STEM and help visualize the future of life in space. By partnering with the Huntsville Science Festival, the Club is furthering this mission to engage with students by promoting opportunities that open doors for STEM careers.

Club for the Future and Huntsville Science Festival are asking K-12 students across Alabama to send postcards answering the question, “Why do you think Earth needs space?” Blue Origin will fly the postcards to space and back on an upcoming New Shepard rocket launch and mail the postcards back to each student with a "Flown to Space" stamp.

On the blank side of the postcard, draw or write your answer to the question, “Why do you think Earth needs space?” Label the postcard with your first name, last initial, teacher’s name, and school name, then turn it in to your teacher.

We'd prefer you send one package that includes all the postcards from your school or district. Feel free to use the same box that the postcards arrived in. Rubberband your postcards and place in a Ziploc bag with a label that includes your name, district name, school name, and address along with the number of postcards in your package. If your district provided their own instructions, follow those but please stick to the same label convention above.

RETURNING POSTCARDS FROM SPACE

Club for the Future will keep all postcards grouped together for the flight. Upon return, each postcard will get stamped with the Club’s official "Flown to Space" stamp. The Club will then ship each box of postcards back to its respective district.

Districts will unpack and distribute each school’s packaged postcards and return them back to their respective schools. The school’s office will return postcards back to teachers for them to distribute back to each student as their own space-flown keepsake.
