Frequently Asked Questions

Is the postcards program the primary activity for Club for the Future?

The postcards program is an important activity that will always be a part of our organization. Additionally, we're proud to partner with numerous organizations making strides in STEM education for K-12 students.

Can I send bulk postcards?

Absolutely! We encourage sending postcards in bulk as it helps mitigate postage costs. We’ll fly boxes or large envelopes of postcards together and return them to you as one bundle. If you’re sending in bulk, the postcard doesn’t have to be a postcard at all. We’re happy to fly postcard-sized paper to keep the cost low for everyone.

Can I send more than one postcard?

Yes, please do! There’s no limit to how many postcards a student can collect and we encourage students to send as many as they'd like. Students can address postcards to themselves, friends, family, and beyond.

Do I have to use your postcard template?

Nope, we encourage you to make your own postcard out of whatever you can find—a notecard, back of a cereal box, manila envelope, or a postcard you picked up on a family vacation. Be creative!

How can I learn more about Blue Origin?

Read more about Blue Origin’s mission to build a road to space through reusable launch vehicles here

How can I schedule a tour of a Blue Origin facility?

We’re unfortunately only able to grant tours on a limited basis. Submit your request here.

How much does the program cost?

Aside from the cost of postage, the program is free. If the cost of postage is a barrier to participation, please reach out to clubforfuture@blueorigin.com

How soon after I send my postcard will it fly on a New Shepard mission? Will I be notified in advance?

It varies but we’re committed to flying every postcard we receive and unfortunately aren’t able to provide advance notice. We thank you for your patience.

How soon after my postcard flies to space and gets stamped "Flown to Space" will it be returned to me?

Due to the high volume of postcards we receive, we aren’t able to guarantee a return date. Just know that our team works very hard to get these returned to you.

I live outside the U.S. Can I still participate?

Absolutely. We recommend using a Global Forever International U.S. Postage stamp. If you send your postcard without a return postage stamp, we’ll do our best to get it back to you.

Is the program still running?

Yes, Club for the Future has payload space for postcards on every New Shepard flight for the foreseeable future.

When creating my postcard, do I specifically have to answer the question, “Why does Earth need space?”

No. We encourage you to send whatever artistic expression you want to share about the future of living and working in space—or any other topic of your choosing. The sky is the limit!
